We collaborate with other information and communications companies to help us
operate as a responsible and sustainable industry.
On key social issues, such as health and network safety, O2 participates in and co-funds several industry groups:
Operators across the industry continued to co-operate to promote and implement the evolving voluntary Codes of Content on the responsible use of mobile phones in the UK, Germany and Ireland. These codes are the cornerstone of our commitment to protecting young people and other vulnerable groups from inappropriate content such as pornography.
During 2006 we made a commitment to work with major suppliers and other operators on labour standards and environmental practices in our supply chain. We are board members of the Global e-Sustainability Initiative (GeSI) and we co-chair its supply-chain working group.
Telefónica O2 Czech Republic has signed the ETNO (European Network Operators’ Association) Sustainability charter.
