Vivek Dev joined the Company in 1994 as chief financial officer (CFO) for BT Mobile. In 1996, he became CFO of BT Europe, before taking on the role of CFO for BT Wireless. He was appointed chief operating officer of Telefónica O2 UK in August 2001. Prior to joining BT, Dev held various senior finance roles in GrandMet (now Diageo). He qualified at KPMG and then Price Waterhouse. 
 
Mr Dev joined the board of Telefónica Europe plc on 1 March 2007.
